Tim Murphy has owned and operated locomotive repair businesses for more than 40 years. An electrician by trade, he started working for the railroad in his early 20s. After a few years, he opened his own locomotive repair business.

Tim has continued his legacy of excellent service, industry-leading experience, and love of a good joke throughout his ownership. Now looking to enhance his golf game, Tim has brought on board Dwight Swanson.

Dwight, the new owner of Murphy Locomotive Repair, is a master electrician with over 20 years of managing commercial electrical contracts. Growing up on a farm in North Dakota, Dwight gained experience working on diesel mechanics.

Dwight joined the team at Murphy Locomotive Repair in 2012 and has enjoyed every minute of it. He is looking forward to carrying on the tradition of excellent service and knowledge to customers for years to come.
